John D. Phillips, 67, entered peacefully into rest on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at his home in DeRidder, Louisiana. John was born to James Allison and Carline (Lambert) Phillips on November 6, 1952, in DeRidder, Louisiana.
Visitation will begin Friday, November 29, 2019, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM, First United Pentecostal Church of DeRidder, LA. Visitation will begin Saturday, November 30, 2019, from 11 AM until Funeral services begin at 2:00 PM, First United Pentecostal Church of DeRidder, LA with Rev. Zale Lewis, Rev. Chance Lewis, Rev. Kevin Reeves and Rev. Alan Farquhar officiating. Interment will follow at Whitaker Cemetery, DeRidder, LA.
John was a mechanic with E K Construction Company for 20+ years.
Preceded in death by his parents, James Allison Phillips and Carline Lambert Phillips, and brother, Mearl P. Phillips.Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 47 years, Roberta Hester Phillips of DeRidder, LA; two sons, Jasper Phillips of DeRidder, LA, Burt Phillips and wife Kristy of DeRidder, LA: daughter, Roseanna Bailey of DeRidder, LA; brother, Allen Phillips and wife Anna of Moss Bluff, LA; two sisters, Merline Simmons and husband Edward of DeRidder, LA, Clora Phillips of DeRidder, LA; five grandchildren, Charles Bailey, Deven Whitaker, Jaron Phillips, Trevin Phillips, Shyanna Bailey; one great-grandchild, Stella Whitaker; and a host of nieces and nephews.
