John Hamilton's Obituary
Funeral services for John Edward Hamilton, 65, of Leesville, Louisiana will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2011 at South Park Baptist Church with Rev. Patrick Austin and Rev Walter Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Forest Cemetery in Leesville, LA under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held from 10 am Wednesday, July 6th until service time Thursday in the church.
John the son of Rufus and Rosie Grimes Hamilton was born on October 4, 1945 in Leesville, Louisiana. He passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2011 at the Woodland Nursing Center in Leesville.
John served as a Vernon Parish Police Juryman for 27 years, he loved helping people even if not in his district that was the reason he would always run for the Police Jury. He also worked for the Vernon Parish Police Jury for 35 years also worked for the City of Leesville as the Public Works Director for 4 years. He loved to hunt and fish.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Eva Hamilton; son, Larry and Carrie Hamilton; Sister, Frankie Jean and Victor Austin and his cousin Margery Skinner all of Leesville; Grandchildren, Shasta Dawn Williams, Jeremy Wayne Hamilton, Steven Tyler Hamilton; Great Grandchildren, Jecori Lamant Williams and Jesse Lee Williams.
