John Robert Brooks' Obituary
Graveside services for John Robert Brooks, 91, of Leesville will be held Friday, September 15, 2017, at 10 am at Rowe Memorial Cemetery in Leesville, with Bro. Chris Portz officiating. Services are under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 14th, from 6 pm until 9 pm at the Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville.
John, the son of Elisha and Elona Robinson Brooks, was born on September 11, 1926, in Glenmora, Louisiana. He passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017, in Alexandria, Louisiana, with his sons by his side. Mr. Brooks retired from the KCS Railroad after 37 years of service.
He is survived by his two sons, Tommy Brooks & wife, Diane of Toledo Bend, LA and Randy Brooks of Lake Charles, LA; brothers, Ivy Brooks of Hornbeck and Carl Wade Brooks of Leesville; sister, Sharon George of Richmond, VA; ten grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.
JB was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Daisy Arlene; sister, Aline Davis; brothers, AL and Rufus Brooks; son, Johnny Brooks; daughter, Belinda Hernandez and granddaughter, Candace Arlene Hernandez.
