John Arthur Brewer's Obituary
John Arthur Brewer, 83, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on July 5, 2026.
John was born on November 14, 1942, in DeRidder, Louisiana. He graduated from DeRidder High School with the Class of 1960 before continuing his education at McNeese State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. During his years at McNeese, he was an active member of the Baptist Student Union and shared his love of music as a member of the folk singing group known as The Bachelors.
Following college, John devoted his professional career to public service, working as an environmental chemist in the Civil Service Division at Fort Polk.
While John’s career was important, his greatest calling was serving the Lord and His church. A faithful member of Diamond Baptist Church for more than 50 years, he served as head deacon, music director, and Sunday School teacher. His unwavering faith, servant’s heart, and dedication to sharing God’s Word touched countless lives throughout the decades. He faithfully led by example, leaving a legacy of Christian service, humility, and love that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
Outside of his work and ministry, John was an avid golfer who found great joy on the golf course.
John’s life was a testimony to his deep faith, his love for his family, and his commitment to serving others. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he influenced.
