JoeAnn Sterling Lillie's Obituary
Funeral services for JoeAnn Sterling Lillie, 89, of DeRidder, LA, will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 in the First United Methodist Church in DeRidder with Rev. Lamar Oliver and Rev. Laraine Waughtal officiating. Burial will follow in the Beauregard Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 24, 2024 from 10:30 A.M. until time of service at the church.
JoeAnn, was born on November 18, 1934 to Homer and Mildred Baggs. JoeAnn was one of five children. She passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024 in DeRidder, Louisiana.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father along with sisters Dessie Hoyland and Betty Clopton. She was also preceded in death by her only brother Homer “Bud” Baggs Jr.
She is survived by one sister, Hazel Holland of Beaumont, Texas and her only child Roger Sterling III of DeRidder. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
JoeAnn was widowed in 1997 for six years until she met Truman Isaac Lillie. They were married in 2003 and he became the love of her life. JoeAnn lost Truman in 2006 and remained devoted to her son and church until her death.
JoeAnn was a devoted Christian and attended the First United Methodist Church in Deridder. She loved her Savior and lived everyday of her life with him. She also cherished the time spent working with the “Pink Ladies and Blue Coats” at Beauregard Memorial Hospital.
Those honored to serve as pallbearer are Tom Holland, Dave Lee Clopton, Roger Sterling III, Sam Jones, Scotty Nease and Tim Kindler.
In lieu of flowers donations made be made to First United Methodist Church of DeRidder.
