Joe's Obituary
Joe (Emmitt) Wright, Jr., 88, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Saturday, March 16, 2019 in Lake Charles, LA. Emmitt, the son of Joe and Willy May (Bell) Wright, Sr. was born on December 9, 1930, in Jamestown, Texas.
Visitation will begin Saturday, March 30, 2019, from 10:00 AM until Funeral Service begins at 11:00 AM, at Salvation Center, St. Mary’s Church of God in Christ, 506 E 1st ST, in DeRidder, LA with Superintendent Dallas Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Beauregard Cemetery, DeRidder, LA.
Emmitt worked at Long Bell for 42 years. He married his devoted wife Pearl Marie Atkins Wright on June 19, 1948. He enjoyed fishing and sitting on the porch drinking coffee. He loved spending time with family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Raybelle Miller of Miami, FL; son, Edward Charles St. Romain, Jr. of Merryville, LA; granddaughter, Yolonda Johnson (Devon) of Miami, FL; three great grandchildren, Korvic Neat, Kriston Johnson, Kamyra Johnson; nieces and nephews, Ursula Harris, Richard Wysingle, Rita Duncan, Jimmy Fisher, Andre Wash, Trinis Wash, Renae Smith, Christopher Wash; and a host of relatives and friends. Special thanks for our loving nieces that took care of Emmitt, Sherri Lynn Dorsey and Mona Spikes.
Preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Marie Wright; twin sister, Willie Mae Wash; sister, Lillie Mae Robinson; brother, Phillip Wright, nephew, Arthur Henry; and parents, Joe and Willy May Wright, Sr.
Serving as pallbearers are Joe McGee, Kenvin Akins, Eddie Nichols, Elray Beasely, Korey Mazyck, Aaron Mazyck, and Frank Williams, Jr.
