Jimmy Charles "Chuck" Bosley's Obituary
It is with great sorrow that the family of Jimmy Charles (Chuck) Bosley, 53, of Ragley, LA announces his passing. Chuck passed away Thursday October 27, 2011 at MD Anderson in Houston, TX.
Chuck was born November 14, 1957, in Fort Hood, TX. He was a graduate of Rosepine High School where he was a talented athlete. He continued his education at McNeese State University where he played basketball for the Cowboys. Chuck was very active in Men’s Slow Pitch Softball where he led his team to a State Championship and numerous other individual and team accomplishments. He was also a large supporter of South Beauregard/Ragley youth athletics.
Some of Chuck’s favorite hobbies included spending time with family, golfing, flying his airplanes, politics and listening to the Walton & Johnson radio show. One of his biggest heroes was President Ronald Reagan.
Chuck Bosley was a contractor, real estate developer, and cattleman. He was active in the Beauregard/Vernon Sunrise Rotary club, as well as being a 32nd degree Mason. He was a member of the Deridder Airport Board and the Experimental Aircraft Association. Chuck became a private pilot several years ago. He enjoyed owning and operating several aircrafts, including a Cessna L-19 Birddog, which was an original spotter plane during the Vietnam War.
Chuck is survived by his wife Kathleen Jackson Bosley of Ragley, LA, one son, Blake Bosley, of Houston, TX, and one daughter, Jillian Bosley, of Baton Rouge, LA. Chuck is also survived by two brothers, Rev. Jeffrey Bosley and wife Anita of Nesbit, MS, Johnny Bosley and wife Carolyn of Rosepine, LA as well as several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by mother-in-law, Yvonne Jackson, of Ragley, LA and brother-in-law, Don Jackson and wife Martha of Singer, LA.
Chuck Bosley is preceded in death by his father, James Bosley and mother Carol Bosley of Rosepine, LA, and father-in-law, Bill Jackson, of Ragley, LA.
Visitation will be at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder on Sunday October 30th from 4pm until 9pm and on Monday October 31st from 12:30 until the time of service at 1:30. Burial will be at Magnolia Baptist Cemetery, Ragley, LA immediately following the services.
