Jimmie Lee West's Obituary
Funeral services for Mr. Jimmie Lee West, 94, of Hornbeck will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Hornbeck. Rev. John Northway, and Rev. Wayne Chance will officiate. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. Tuesday until service time Wednesday in the Church. Mr. West was born on March 20, 1924 in Peason, LA. He passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2019 in the Veterans Hospital in Shreveport, LA. He served his country in the United States Army, and upon his Honorable Discharge in January of 1946, had attained the rank of SGT. He retired after many years with the Louisiana Highway Department working on a Bridge Crew. He served 70 years as a Deacon at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Hornbeck. Preceding him in death are his parents: Rollie & Ollie Spears West; One Son: Ricky West; His Wife of 65 years: Georgia West Those left to cherish his memory are his: Two Sons: Jimmie Dale (Tommie) West, and Bennie Gale West both of Hornbeck; Two Daughters: Gienell (Kenny) Doyle, and Barbara Despino both of Hornbeck; Fourteen Grandchildren; 25 Great Grandchildren; One Great Great Granddaughter.
