Jimmie Dunn's Obituary
Funeral services for Jimmie Dunn, 58, of Merryville, will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 23, 2022 in the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder. Burial will follow in the Newlin Cemetery in Singer.
Visitation will be Friday, July 22, 2022, from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Jimmie Dunn was born on March 22, 1964 in Merryville, LA to her parents, Kenneth Ray and Bobbie Jean Alston Dunn. She passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
If you were blessed to know Jimmie, you knew that she loved animals. In 2017, Jimmie co-founded a rescue to help save dogs. She put her heart and soul into the rescue, making sure every dog was safe, loved and properly vetted. Jimmie helped save hundreds of dogs because of her efforts.
Jimmie loved her family and friends more than anything. Helping others when she was able brought joy to her life. Jimmie loved being a grandmother to two very special children. Teaching her grandchildren how to count, learn their shapes, and colors, and even the dreaded “grandma song,”; she knew her son hated. Jimmie was loved by so many and she will be dearly missed.
Jimmie is preceded in death by her parents Kenneth Ray Dunn and Bobbie Jean Dunn and her daughter, Bobbie Leigh Jackson.
Those left to cherish her memory is her son, Andrew Baggett & wife Colette of Merryville; brothers, Benjamin “Buzz” Dunn & wife Glenda of DeRidder and Kelly “Box” Dunn & wife Cindy of Dry Creek; sister, Debbie Dunn of Moss Bluff and grandchildren, Paityn Clopton and Owen Guidry.Those honored to serve as pallbearers are; Brad Ducote, Bobbie Cooley, Daniel Willis, David Marcantel, George Allen Boyer and Royce Smith.
