Jerry C. Cornwell's Obituary
Funeral services for Jerry C. Cornwell, 88, of Rosepine, La. Will be held at 3:00p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2009 in the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder, La. With the Rev. David DeWitt officiating. Burial will follow in the Newlin Cemetery in Singer. Visitation will be held from 9A.M. until 12Noon and from 2p.m. until service time Saturday in the Funeral Home.
Mr . Cornwell passed away Thursday, May 7, 2009 at his residence. He was born in Spring Valley, Minnesota but had lived many years in Vernon Parish. He was retired after serving 20 years in the U.S. Navy, and retired as a Steamfitter from the Pipefitters Union Local #60 out of New Orleans. He was an avid farmer and that is where his heart was, in his farming. He was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a Masonic Lodge.
Mr. Cornwell was preceded in death by his Wife - Dolores Sanders Cornwell and His Parents Cyrus Smith “C.S.” & Rose Rassbach Cornwell
He is survived by his Children: Charles Scott & wife Laura Hunt Cornwell of Diamondhead, Ms., John Edwin & wife Kelly Kyle Cornwell of Moss Bluff, La., Jana Cornwell & husband Randy Cormier of Moss Bluff, La., and Jerrie Cornwell DeLozier of Virginia Beach, Va.; One Brother: Lynn B. Cornwell of Merryville, La., Two Sisters: Ruth Hawley of LaCombe, La. And Ester Muller of Bremerton, Wa.; 8 Grandchildren: Ben DeLozier, David DeLozier, Stuart Cormier, Leanne Cornwell, Cheri` Cornwell, Jasen Cornwell, Lena Cornwell, & John S.H. Cornwell; One Great Granddaughter: Ellysa Cornwell
