Jerry Wayne Brooks' Obituary
Graveside services for Jerry Wayne Brooks, 69, of Anacoco will be held Thursday, January 19, 2017, at 2 pm at the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Leesville, with Rev. D.R. Davis officiating. Services are under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 19th, from 11 am until 1 pm at the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville.
Jerry, the son of Omer D. and Grace Alligood Brooks, was born on April 25, 1947, in Camilla, Georgia. He passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017, in Alexandria, Louisiana.
He was preceded in death by his father, Omer D. Brooks and his granddaughter, Grace Brooks.
Mr. Brooks was a Retired 1SG having served 20 plus years in the United States Army. He loved fishing and making people laugh. He was the best story teller.
He is survived by his wife, of 50 years, Alice Brooks of Anacoco; son, Terry Allen Brooks and wife, Talitha of Tomball, TX; daughter, Valerie Ann Abshire and husband, Harvey of Sulphur, LA; mother, Grace Brooks of Albany, GA; brother, Dennis Brooks and wife, Gay of Albany, Georgia; sisters, Sharon Laney and husband, Skip of South Carolina, Diane Gonier of Albany, GA and Kay Swilley and husband, Ben of Athens, GA; grandchildren, Brittany Faye Coco, Erin Kay Dalrymple, Isabella Brooks and Madelyn Brooks and great-grandchild, Reid Coco.
