Jerrell Dowden's Obituary
Jerrell Dowden, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend passed away at Byrd Hospital on February 7, 2026. He was 71 years old. Born in Port Arthur, Texas on October 26, 1954, to Drew Laquita May Dowden and Ray E. Dowden. He was raised in Leesville and was dedicated to his family. He was married to Brenda for over 52 years and they shared a devotion of friendship and love.
Jerrell worked for Leesville Cable Companies for 33 years. He retired and worked as Fire Marker for 9 years and retired in 2017. He loved to fish, hunt, and watch LSU and Astros Baseball.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Drew Laquita May Dowden; father, Ray Dowden; mother-in-law, Doreen Wilson; father-in-law, Henry A. Wilson and brother-in-law, Bodie Wilson.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Brenda Dowden; children, Jerrell Jr. (Laranda), Crystal Rocker (Walter) and Landon (Melissa); grandchildren, Kaden Rocker (Megan), MacKenna Rocker Bonvillain, Carson Rocker, Brycen Dowden, Addison Dowden, Maddison Dowden, and Bregman Dowden; great grandchildren, Jasper and Everett; brother, Jodie Dowden; sister, Janet Boycher; brother-in-law, Hoss Wilson and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville with Bro. Jason Nolde and Bro. C.W. Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow in the Leesville Cemetery.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville.
