Jerald Wayne "Jake" Perkins' Obituary
Funeral services for Mr. Jerald Wayne “Jake” Perkins will be held at 10:00a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014 in the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville, with Bro. Jerry Twyman officiating. Burial will follow in the McInnis Cemetery in Anacoco under the direction of the Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 21st from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and on Thursday, May 22nd from 8:00 a.m. until service time in the chapel.
Beloved Husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather departed this world for his heavenly home. He was the first born child of Mary Helen Craft Perkins and Albert Lester Perkins. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Lea McInnis Perkins of 60 years, son Trampus Perkins, his parents, two brothers and a sister all of Vernon Parish.
Jake was a lifelong resident of Vernon Parish. He and His brother owned and operated Perkins & Perkins Paint Company for over 40 years. He loved being in the outdoors with his bird dogs, especially hunting every year with his family on Thanksgiving. He was a member of the Cold Springs Baptist Church in Anacoco, and in June 2012, Jake celebrated his 50th year of service to the Orange Masonic Lodge in Anacoco. Mr. Perkins was the founder and Trail Boss for many years of the Leesville Lions Club Trail Ride from Anacoco to Leesville.
Mr. Perkins is survived by: Three Sons: John & Kay Perkins of Anacoco, La., Rod & Pam Perkins of Ozark, Ar., and Cletus Perkins of Dallas, Tx.; One Brother: Jimmy Craft of Arkansas; Two Sisters: Ruth Walters of Leesville, La. And Barbara DeVille of Alexandria, La.; Grandchildren: Amanda & Tom Coulter, Beverly & Chad Milsap, and Steven & Tanya Perkins; Great Grandchildren: Kaityln Coulter, Sierra Milsap, Colton Milsap, Cheyenne Milsap, Tanner Perkins, Payton Perkins.
Daddy and Paw we love you very much and will miss your sweet spirit, loving smile, and watching those Good Ole Westerns.
