J.C. Thibodeaux's Obituary
J.C. Thibodeaux, 87, of Grant, LA entered into eternal life with his Lord and Savior on Monday, October 26, 2020 at the Carpenter House Hospice Facility in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. J.C. was born on February, 7, 1933 in Branch, LA to Gabriel and Eve Cormier Thibodeaux.
J.C. worked for many years in the manufacturing industry before retiring and spending time with his loving wife of 63 years, Myra Clanton Thibodeaux. He was a faithful member of Palestine Baptist Church in Grant, LA where he served as Choir Director for many years. J.C. was a terrific husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and was a fabulous cook and friend to all. His faith in Jesus Christ was evident in the way he lived his life. He enjoyed playing his harmonica, working in the yard, wood working in his shop, speaking French to anyone who would listen and enjoying a good cigar. He loved being with his family, especially during all the holidays. A highlight for the family was his reading of the Cajun Night Before Christmas on Christmas Eve to the delight of all the grand and great-grandchildren.
Preceding J.C. to his journey to Heaven were his father and mother, his brothers, Jimmy and Mayeus, and his wife and soul mate, Myra Clanton Thibodeaux.
Those left to cherish his memories are two sons, Gary Thibodeaux and wife Kathleen of Little Cypress, TX and Brent Thibodeaux and wife Erin of Baton Rouge, LA; one daughter, the “apple of his eye”, Ginger Thibodeaux Perry and husband Kevin of Moss Bluff, LA; sister-n-law, Emily Clanton of DeRidder, LA; brother-n-law, Larry Clanton of Baton Rouge, LA; sister-n-law, Brenda Thibodeaux and niece Celeste Thibodeaux; grandchildren, Laura Thibodeaux Pace and husband Ryan, Jordan Thibodeaux and wife Megan, Garrett Perry and wife Savannah, Trent Perry and wife Kenlie, Nathaniel Mullins, Hannah Thornton and husband Joel, Ashley Cornwell; great-grandchildren, Gavin, Jackson and Carter Pace, Hallie Thibodeaux and James Thornton, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Palestine Baptist Church in Grant, LA on Friday, October 30, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at Palestine Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Palestine Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder.
Pallbearers for the service include Jordan Thibodeaux, Garrett Perry, Trent Perry, Jeffrey Trammel, Quinton Trammel and Nathan Stout.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Palestine Baptist Church in memory of J.C.
