Janis Marie Knapp's Obituary
Funeral services for Janis Marie Knapp, 79, of Leesville, Louisiana will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 18th, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville with Rev. Jeff Coleman officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 17th, at 5:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday, July 18th from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
Janis, the daughter of James Arleigh and Maggie Rivers Hicks, Sr., was born August 15, 1934, in Leesville, LA. She passed away at her residence in Leesville, on Tuesday, July 15, 2014.
Mrs. Knapp retired from Civil Service. She was member of First Baptist Church of Leesville and also a member of the Pilot Club of Leesville. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George “Tom” Knapp; brothers, James Arleigh Hicks, Jr. and Richard Melvin Hicks; niece, Becky Hicks Rains and nephew, David Partington.
She is survived by her children, Susie Knapp Neubert and husband, Tom of Leesville & Brenda Knapp Corley and husband Mike of Leesville; brothers, Sherman Hicks and wife, Billie Nell of Lake Charles and Travis Hicks & wife, Bonny of Leesville; sister, Ann Partington & husband, Jim of Shreveport; grandchildren, Kimberly Redden and Rick Bretherton of Leesville, John David “J.D.” Redden of Leesville, Tabitha Neubert of DeRidder, and Thomas “Tommy” Neubert of Leesville; great grandchildren, Janalisa Paddy, Briar Paddy, Brianna Redden, John David Redden, Colby Redden, Shy Ann Redden, and Ryder Grace Neubert and numerous other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to, First Baptist Church of Leesville.
