James G. Wright's Obituary
Home going services for Mr. James G. Wright, 97, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday March 20, 2015 in the Charity Tabernacle in Dry Creek. Burial will follow in the Dry Creek Cemetery under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2015 from 4:00 – 9:00 p.m. in the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder, and on Friday, March 20th from 9a.m. until service time in the Charity Tabernacle in Dry Creek.
Mr. Wright was born in Carlyss, Louisiana on June 29, 1917 to William and Mable Huthman Wright. His faith became sight on March 17, 2015 when he entered the eternal home he has spent so many years preaching about.
The greatest passion and love in his life was preaching the Word of God. He spent over 60 years as a pastor of many churches all over the Southwest Louisiana area. His most recent pastorate was the Charity Tabernacle in Dry Creek where he was very active until the age of 95. He helped to build several churches in the area and touched many lives through his work for the Lord. When he wasn’t preaching he enjoyed farming and spending time with his family.
Mr. Wright is preceded in death by his wife: Bobbie Louise Vincent; Two Children: Shirley Jean and Clavin Wright; Siblings: Walter Wright, Fannie Lewing, Albert Wright, Letha Ravia, Fred Wright, and Nellie Areno; and Two Grandchildren: Darrell Jean, and Nancy Hoffpauir.
He is survived by: Children: Leonard Wright of Dry Creek, Carolyn Pruitt of Dry Creek, Alvin Wright of Dry Creek, Gloria Johnson of Gillis, Curtis Wright of Dry Creek, Randy Wright of Hackberry, Gay Lynn Jones of Sulphur, and Darla Hughes of DeRidder; 32 Grandchildren; 65 Great Grandchildren; and 40 Great Great Grandchildren
