James “Jim” David Ricks, 77
Graveside service for James " Jim" Ricks will be Thursday, June 28th at 2:00 PM, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hornbeck, LA. Full Military honors will be provided at the cemetery. Visitation will, Wednesday, June 27, 2007 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville.
Jim passed away Monday, June 25, 2007 at Byrd Regional Hospital in Leesville, LA
He proudly served jis country in the United States Army for 24 years. He retired in 1976 as an E-7 (SFC). During his time of service he served a tour of duty in Korea and a tour of duty in Vietnam. Jim was a member of the American Legion Retired Military Post # 387 in New Llano.
Jim loved life and had many passions especially carpentry and eletricity. He could build or wire anything, and his workmanship was extraordininary. Jim also loved to fish and he enloyed dancing.
He is survived by his wife, Madge Ricks of Leesville, LA; daughters: Dorothy Wooldridge, of Leesville, LA and Darlene Harrington of Mississippi; Sisters: Bonnie May of Monroe, LA, Glen Dale Wilson of Monroe, LA, Alvern Snowden of Monroe, LA, Vernelle Knighton of Monroe, LA; four Grandchildren and numerous Great Grandchildren
