James Reiber's Obituary
James Joseph Reiber passed away at Beauregard Memorial Hospital on August 4th, 2021 after a brief illness. He was 93 years old.
James was born on May 6th, 1928 at Fort Leavenworth, KS to Martin and Mary Reiber. James was one of eight children born into a career military family and they traveled extensively as their father, an Army Physician was periodically reassigned.
James was a career soldier retired after more than 24 years of service. He fought in Korea in 1951 and also completed 2 tours of duty in South Vietnam. His awards include the Bronze Star Medal.
James was predeceased by his parents, his wife of 62 years, Momoe and 6 of his 8 siblings.
He is survived by a brother, Frank, of Laurence, KS.
A memorial will be held at the Fort Polk VA Cemetery at 1100 hours on the 30th of August 2021 to commemorate his life and service to the nation.
