James Packer's Obituary
Funeral services for James Hardy Packer, 69, of Leesville will be held Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at 10 am at the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville, with Rev. D.R. Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Castor Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 21, 2016, from 5 pm until 9 pm and on Wednesday, June 22nd from 8 am until time of service at the funeral home.
James, the son of James Ruffin and Robbie Lee Gill Packer was born on January 2, 1947, in Alexandria, Louisiana. He passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2016, in Alexandria, LA.
Mr. Packer served four years in the United States Airforce as a Chaplains Assistant. He worked at KCS as an electrician for twenty-three years. James Hardy loved to fish, hunt and drink coffee and visit with friends. He had his private pilot’s license and loved to fly his plane. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, James Hardy, Jr., and grandson, Tyler Hickingbottom.
He is survived by his wife of twenty-one years, Barbara Packer of Leesville; children, Bryan Jennings Packer (Rachel) of Leesville, Michele Packer Taylor (Neal) of Haynesville, Alicia Crager Kemp (Jamie) and Jamey Crager Hickingbottom (Johnny); grandchildren, Seth Jennings Packer, Shelby Taylor, Katie Taylor, Reagan Wilson (Kasey), Morgan Wilson, Jordan Lane McCormick (Andrew Sauls), Hunter McCormick, Stetson Hickingbottom & Jake Hickingbottom and one great grandchild, Ryder Hudgins.
