James Mitchell's Obituary
Funeral services for James “Matt” Mitchell, 44, of Leesville will be Tuesday, October 21 at 12 Noon in the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville, with Rev. Chris Welch will officiate. The burial will follow in the Cooper Cemetery in Pickering, LA. Friends may call Monday, October 20th from 11 am until 9 pm in the funeral home then Tuesday, October 21st from 8 am until service time in the chapel.
Matt passed away Thursday, October 16th in Temple, TX from injuries received in an auto accident.
Matt was born in Vernon Parish and a lifelong residence of Vernon Parish. He was a Pipe Fitter/Boiler Marker and he had a great love for music. He was preceded in death by his parents Bobby Gene and Glendoris Mitchell and a niece Wendy Weir.
He is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn “Gwen” Mitchell of Leesville; step-daughter, Heather Cain and grandsons Joshua, James and Joe Wayne Cain all of Leesville; Sisters; Diana (husband Robert) Kienle of Jerome, Missouri, Barbara Belknap of Walker, LA and Deborah (husband, Paul) Weir of Copperas Cove, TX; Brother, David Mitchell of Leesville and 2 nieces and 3 nephews
