James Huey Horton's Obituary
James Huey Horton, 80 of DeRidder, La. went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 31, 2011 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday February 2, 2011, 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church of DeRidder. Minister will be Rev. Lindsey Burns. Burial will be at Cherry Grove Cemetery in Mittie, La.
Visitation will begin on Tuesday, February 1, 2011, 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Labby Memorial Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Edna Ezell Horton of DeRidder; daughters, Glenda Jordan and Lucinda Horton both of DeRidder; sisters, Lurline Willis and husband Clyde of Denham Springs, La., Wanda Young and Maude Smith both of Mittie, La.; 3 grandchildren, Brandy Michelle Jordan and husband, Clay Newton, Paul David Jordan, III and wife Brandy Nicole all of DeRidder and James Brandon Jordan and wife Deanne of Leesville; great-grandchildren, Jacob Alexander Jordan and Jaymison Taye Paul Jordan both of DeRidder.
Preceding him in death were his parents, James and Rachel Horton; sister, Yvonne Moses and infant daughter, Debra Kay Horton.
Mr. Horton was born in Grant, La in 1930 and resided in Beauregard Parish for 46 years. He proudly served in United States Army from 1951 until 1953. He worked at Kite Pontiac in 1966 until it became CBG car dealership and worked there until December of 2010. James was a member of First Baptist Church in DeRidder.
