James "Hoot" Hall's Obituary
Funeral services for James Alton Hall, Sr. “Hoot” 72, of Slagle will be held at 11 AM, Thursday July 10th, at the Antioch Baptist Church in Slagle. The Rev’s Wade Jackson and Mike Murray will officiate. The burial will follow in the Antioch Cemetery.
Friends may call Wednesday, July 9th, from 4 pm until service time in the church Thursday, July 10th.
Mr. Hall passed away Monday July 7th at Byrd Regional Hospital in Leesville.
He was born in Leesville, Louisiana. He served the community at Hixson Funeral Home for 17 ½ years then worked for Magnolia Life Insurance for 3 years. Afterwards he worked in the Logging Industry. In 1975 he began working for the Vernon Parish School System as a school bus driver. “Hoot” retired in 1994. After his retirement he continued with his love of hunting and fishing with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Dorris Marie Smith Hall of Slagle, LA
