James Calvin Gibbs' Obituary
Funeral services for James Calvin Gibbs, 71, of Leesville were held Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at 2 pm at First United Pentecostal Church of Leesville, with Pastor Mark Christian officiating. Burial followed in the Pine Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
James (Bugs), the son of William Calvin & Dola Jesse Pauline McHam Gibbs was born October 5, 1944, in Marshall, Texas. He passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016, in Alexandria, Louisiana.
James, a graduate of Marthaville High School and Northwestern State University (AS-Criminal Justice), retired from the Louisiana State Police as a Communications Operator. He was a member of First United Pentecostal Church of Leesville. He loved gardening and tinkering with small engines. His family was everything to him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Georgia Rea Roberts Gibbs. They were married over fifty-one years. Their children are Jennifer, James II & Mary, and John & Carissa Gibbs. His precious grandchildren are Richard & Annette, Stephanie, Kenneth & Ricci Waterman; David & Lauren Adamski; Sam & Kayla Queen; Ashlyn, Jathan, and Bowen Gibbs. His extraordinary great-grandchildren are Jenaleyse, Georgia, Elijah, James, Wesley, Brooklyn, Brennan, Jason, Mason and Bailey. Cherished siblings are Albert Gibbs and Dola & Marvin Wheeler. His wonderful nephews & nieces include Callie, Randy, Sherry, Brenda, Beth, Joy, Andrew, and Angela.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin & Pauline Gibbs; brothers, William and Paul Gibbs; and his precious grandson Joshua Gibbs.
