Jackie "Jack" Lester's Obituary
Funeral services for Jackie "Jack" Lester, 86, of Anacoco will be held Thursday, June 30, 2016, at 2 pm at Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville, with Rev. Bob Rutherford and Rev. Dennis Moses officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Island Cemetery in Pickering, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 29, 2016, from 6 pm until 9 pm and then 8 am until service Thursday in the funeral home.
Jack, the son of Jesse and Mary Frances Whittington Lester, was born on February 24, 1930 in DeRidder, LA. He passed away on Tuesday, June 28th at his residence in Anacoco.
He retired as a merchant marine after 38 years working for Sabine Towing & Kirby Shipping. Jack had a passion for art and was a member of the Abundant Life Church in DeRidder.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Glo Lester of Anacoco; son, Lonnie and wife Naomi Lester; daughter, Karen and husband Clyde Day all of DeRidder; step-children; Audie and wife Alice Hunt of Simpson, Pam and husband Mike Hudgins of Ashville, NC, Robbyn and wife Gail Hunt of Anacoco, and Rhonda and husband Wayne Jackson of Coraopolis, PA; brother Harold L. Lester of DeRidder, LA; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
