Jack V. Robinson's Obituary
Funeral services for Jack V. Robinson, 85, of DeRidder, LA, will be held on Sunday, September 16, 2012, 2:00 PM at Labby Memorial Funeral Home, DeRidder, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Betty O”Banion and Rev. Clyde Snider. Burial will follow in New Cypress Cemetery, Rosepine, LA, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder.
Visitation will begin on Saturday, September 15, 2012, 4:00 PM until 9PM, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home, DeRidder, LA and Sunday, 9:AM until the service.
Jack was born on March 29, 1927, to Ira Lane and George A. Robinson in Hardy, Arkansas. He enlisted in the Navy during WWII where he was a member of the Sea Bees in Okinawa and other islands. He was formerly employed by Brown and Root where he was a pipefitter and supervisor. He attended the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in DeRidder and Hope House in Rosepine. Mr. Robinson is well known for constructing ponds in the Vernon/Beauregard Parish areas and was involved in the construction of Bundick Lake and Toledo Bend Reservoir. He passed from this life on Thursday, September 13, 2012, at his residence in DeRidder, LA.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Willa Dean Waddle Robinson; son, Thomas W. Robinson, Sr. and wife Debbie of Baytown, TX; daughter, Ann Herford and husband Benford of DeRidder, LA; sisters, Mary Ann Hanson of West Plains, MO, Dorothy Evans of Hardy, Arkansas, Iva Jean Hurst of Coloma, MI and Peggy Trotter of West Helena, Arkansas; 4 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Thomas W. Robinson, Jr.; brothers, Lane, Charlie, Bryce, Joe Bill and William “Dick” Robinson and sisters, Betty Romanian and Dora Sue Robinson.
