Not how did he die, but how did he live? Not what did he gain, but what did he give? These are the units to measure the worthOf a man as a man, regardless of birth. Not, what was his church, nor what was his creed? But had he befriended those really in need? Was he ever ready, with word of good cheer,To bring back a smile, to banish a tear? Not what did the sketch in the newspaper say,But how many were sorry when he passed away. In life, we often call many people friends but real authentic friendship is very rare and so very worthy of acknowledgement. True friends are a gift sent from God and Ivan Robinson was a friend of mines. He was a man who loved God, his family and others with a great passion unlike that of many. "When a man's ways are pleasing to the LORD, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him." It was not hard to appreciate such a man. My life was wonderfully touched by this earthy angel by his constant words of encouragement whenever we took the opportunity to talk. His passion for God and his willingness to share the Gospel was what I admired more than anything about His character. He will truly be missed. To the Family----I am so sorry to just learn of Ivan's passing and truly regret not being able to be there to share in His Home-going Celebration but Be Encouraged and always remember His love for each of you and that big soul winning smile of his. Yes, we will all miss Him, but I know the angels are rejoicing even when some of us may shed tears because of what his loss means to us. But, Our lost is Heaven's gain. Please also know that my thoughts, love and prayers are always with you. God bless and keep each of you in His perfect peace both now and for always. Much love ...
We hate to see our loved ones go - but the Lord knows best. We can trust and believe that he is in a better place, because we know that he knew our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and would talk about how good God is with with me and others.
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most high GodShall abide in His graceAnd he that walketh through the valley of deathShall in no wise be entangled by God's handHe shall be keptIf we go into the heavensHe knows! If we go into the deepest depthsHe knows! So no matter what may come our wayWe're covered by His blood!Even when satan seems to rageFrom His hand we're hidden and safe. You're in His safetyRest in His safetyThe safety of the Lord!Love you, and miss you. Because we know you're resting in the bosom of Christ, we too are able to rest.
In this life there are people who are more than just an encounter, who epitaph stretches over the heaven's like braille markings to the blind, and yet words still haven't been able to express their absent and never will. That's the kind of man, father, and child of God my uncle Ivan "Rome" Robinson was and forever will be now present with the Lord. Talented, smart, and charismatic. Rome we love you, we miss you. See you in heaven Unk!
I will miss Ivan Robinson. He was a great man,a great soldier, a hero, and a great friend. He will never be forgotten. Love you Rome.
Hold on to your faith and family.
Rome was not only a brother, but a close and true friend. I will miss him greatly. His genuine love for God and his will to patiently seek the fullness of God's desire for his life has been a blessing to all who knew and loved him and had respect for his life. I am forever grateful for the time we spent together. I remember how you loved that song "Break Every Chain". Now every chain that binds life's struggles, hardships and disappointments are now broken. You are now released. You are set free. So take your rest in the bosom of Jesus. Tell Terry hi for me. Until we all shall meet again Your SisSherial (Neet) Robinson
Ivan Robinson (Rome) had a love for his family and and for the Lord. He always had an uplifting word and would help you any way that he could. Those that did not have the benefit and joy of meeting him really missed out on a memorable person who could take any situation and make you feel better about it. He had a thirst for knowledge and a fun loving spirit but most of all he had a love and desire to please God. Our loss is truly Heaven's gain. We must trust God for He is our Comforter, our Anchor, and He will sustain us. Thanks be to God.
Our sincere and deepest sympathy goes out to the family of our beloved "Rome." May each and every family member and friend find peace and solice in the memories in a live well-lived. May God comfort and strenghthen all.
