Issac "Ike" N. Robertson Jr.'s Obituary
Issac "Ike" N. Robertson, Jr., a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2024, in Leesville, Louisiana. Born on January 27, 1941, in Evans, Louisiana, to Issac N. Robertson Sr. and Ima E. Wilson, Ike lived a life marked by selflessness and unwavering devotion to his family.
For over three decades of service as a firefighter—30 years of which he proudly held the title of Chief—Ike dedicated himself to protecting his community with courage and compassion. His commitment extended beyond the firehouse; he was known for his kindness and willingness to lend a helping hand whenever needed.
The family was at the heart of Ike's existence. He is survived by three loving daughters: Theresa Haag (James), Tammie Cryer (James), and Tonia Day (Mike), all residing in Leesville, along with son Robert Robertson (Danielle) from Colorado. His legacy continues through an extensive lineage that includes grandchildren Courtney, Samantha, Sydnee, Logan, Nathan, Jackie, Paul, Branden, Brendon Lee, Thomas, Jennifer, Patrick, and Candace; great-grandchildren Joseph, Lane, Alva, Mary, Legend, Wyatt, Kyra, Kaiden, Asher, Brendon, and Wolfgang, Fallon; and great-great-grandchildren Brantley, Briella, Harlee, Reyleigh, Brynlee, and Brendon Lee. Siblings: James Robert Robertson, Vivian O'Haver, James Henry Robertson, Patsy Turner, Nary Marie Brakebill, Billy Joe Robertson, Betty Ruth Robertson, Robert Wayne Robertson, Betty Willis, and Shirley Sue Jeane.
Ike shared an extraordinary bond with his late wife, Mary Alice Robertson. Their love story spanned nearly five decades until her passing left an irreplaceable void in his heart. Together, they built a nurturing home filled with laughter and warmth—a testament to their enduring partnership that inspired those around them.
In addition to being devoted to family life—whether it was fishing trips or simply enjoying time together—he cherished moments spent outdoors alongside friends who became like family throughout the years. A proud dog owner, too, Ike found joy every day, thanks largely to Lucy's companionship.
He was preceded in death by not only Mary but also son Michael Newton Robertson and daughter Tina Marie Winningham, whose memories will forever remain etched in the hearts of those who were touched by this remarkable man. He was also preceded in death by his father, Issac N. Robertson, Sr; his mother, Ima E. Manning; his stepfather, Donald Manning; his sister, Doris Jean Pesnell.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 4, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville, Louisiana.
Funeral services honoring his life are scheduled for Tuesday, November 5, at 10:00 a.m., with Bro. Wayne Chance and Bro. Jason Nolde officiating. Interment will follow at Cooper Baptist Church Cemetery under Labby Memorial Funeral Home's direction.
As we gather together during this challenging time, let us remember Ike for what he accomplished and, more importantly, for how deeply loved he made each person feel fortunate enough to share their lives with him. His spirit lives on through the countless lives he touched, and while we mourn our loss, we celebrate the beautiful legacy of love and service he leaves behind.
