Isadore Swayzer, Jr.'s Obituary
Funeral services for Isadore Swayzer, Jr., 79, of Leesville will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 3rd at the First St. Paul Baptist Church Inc. in Leesville with Pastor L. C. Williams officiating. The burial will follow in the Leesville Memorial Cemetery with full military rites. Friends may visit on Saturday, October 3rd from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the church. Services are under the direction of the Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville, Louisiana.
Mr. Swayzer passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at his residence, in Leesville, LA. He retired from the U.S. Army as a Sergeant having served three tours in Germany,one tour in Korea, and two tours in Vietnam. He was a truck driving instructor at Fort Polk, LA and later was employed by Bell South. Mr. Swayzer was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church where he faithfully served as deacon until his demise. His passion was hunting, fishing, barbequing, and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marie Swayzer; his parents, Isadore Swayzer Sr and Mary Jane Swayzer; brothers, Isadore Swayzer I, and Isaiah Swayzer, sisters Hazel Swayzer and Lillie Mae Turner; uncle, Milton Brown, aunts, Susie Doyle, Olivia Clark, and Pearl Jackson.
He is survived by two sisters; Carrie Swayzer Beaudion of Monroe, LA and Lucille Swayzer Livingston of Houston, TX; uncles General Jackson of Dallas, Texas, and George Jackson of Hartford, Connecticut; aunts, Almeda Allen and Ometta Blakemore of Pontiac, Michigan, a sister in-law Myrtice Brantley of Jena, Louisiana and three nieces who grew up with him, Lucy Jane Turner of Las Vega, Nevada, Alice L.Dockery of Baltimore, Maryland and Geneva(Julian) Gray of Monroe LA; godson Corey Gassaway;nephew Jerome Brantley who he raised like a son; many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends (throughout the Country) who were very dear to him.
