Isaac "Ike" Broussard, Sr.'s Obituary
Ike was born September 21, 1922, to Portalise J. Broussard and Cloma Simon in Maurice, LA. He passed away January 31, 2018, in DeRidder, LA. He served in WWII, U.S. Marines Corps. He joined U.S. Marines during WWII serving in the Pacific Theater/Guam. He worked for Shell Oil for 40 years as a drilling foreman and was Shell Oil’s most senior drilling foreman at his retirement. In his career he was involved in many drilling frontiers in the oil drilling industry. He moved to Dry Creek, Louisiana and became a farmer and cattleman where he lived for the rest of his life. He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia, of 68 years. He was a dedicated and loving family man, a gentleman of very high character, impeccable integrity and had a great since of humor.
He is survived by four sons, Kenneth (Juanita) Broussard of Houston, TX; Isaac “Butch” (Diane) Broussard, Jr. of Lafayette, LA; Norbert (Faye) Broussard of Mittie, LA; John (Carol) P. Broussard of Longville, LA, daughters, Beverly Broussard of New Iberia, LA; Georgette (Reginald) B. Vercher of DeRidder, LA; one brother, Dudley Broussard of Sulphur of LA, fifteen grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Georgia, seven siblings, granddaughter Kay Broussard Harwell and daughter-in-law Carol Johnson Broussard.
