Iris L. Blackwell's Obituary
Iris L. Blackwell, 80, passed from this life on Friday, January 1, 2021, in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Iris was born to Roy and Lonnie Mae (Byrd) Daniels on June 05, 1940, in Jasper, Florida.
Visitation will begin Thursday, January 7, 2021, from 1:00 PM until Funeral Service begins at 3:00 PM, at Westview Baptist Church Gym, 1800 Blankenship Drive, in DeRidder, LA with Rev. Jason Hoychick, pastor of Westview Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Beauregard Cemetery, DeRidder, LA.
Iris Blackwell worked for AAFES for over 30 years and retired. She was a faithful and active member of Westview Baptist Church and her Sunday School class. She served with The Awana Club, the Kitchen Committee, The Lords Supper and a member of The “Seasoned Saints” and sang in the Choir. She enjoyed working in her yard with her flowers, doing crafts, shopping, watching football games, especially LSU.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Linda Ortagus of DeRidder, LA, Terry LeBlue of DeRidder, LA; sons Butch LeBlue and wife Linda of Reno, NV, Mike LeBlue and wife Suzan of Las Vegas, NV; eleven grandchildren Billy Ortagus, Boomer Ortagus, Kelly Williamson, Lindsay Stone, Danielle Hart, Beau LeBlue, Brad LeBlue, Salena LeBlue, Peyton LeBlue, Landon LeBlue, Adonis LeBlue; ten great grandchildren; bonus siblings Blackie LeBlue, Connie Manuel, Shiela LeBlue; and many special friends and nieces.
Preceded in death by her first husband Albert J. LeBlue and second husband Williamson “Billy” Blackwell.
Those honored to serve as pallbearer are Beau LeBlue, Billy Ortagus, Boomer Ortagus, Frank Guerrero, Landon LeBlue, and Adonis LeBlue.
Those honored to serve as honorary pallbearer are Brad LeBlue.
