Funeral services for Imogene Griggs Griffin, 96, of Evans, will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 in the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder. Burial will follow in the Hinson Cemetery in the Knight Community, Louisiana. Services has been entrusted to the care of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 2, 2022 from 1:00 P.M. until time of service at the funeral home.
Imogene was born on February 13, 1926 in Alco, Louisiana to her parents Benjamin A. and Claudia Owens Griggs. She passed away on July 29, 2022 in Lumberton, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her parents Benjamin and Claudia Owens; husband, Laurie Harris “Griff” Griffin; son, David Laurie Griffin; sisters, Sybil Whitehead and Orville Rees and brothers, Benjamin Griggs and Joe Griggs.
Left to cherish her memory is daughter, Jo Griffin; son, James Griffin and wife, Janet; sister, Frances Rice; brother, Dave Griggs; grandchildren, David T. Griffin & wife, Amanda, Lauren Griffin, Katherine & husband, Adam Simbeck; great-grandchildren, Kiera Villafranco & husband, Marcus, Denver Griffin and Peyton Lynne Simbeck and longtime companion and special friend, Garth Mitcham and his daughters and families.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children Home; 7200 Desiard St., Monroe, LA 71203.
