Ikey, the son of Henry A. and Bertha D. Kinard Davidson was born on March 11, 1927, in Big Spring, Texas. He passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, in Leesville, Louisiana.
Ikey began his adult life serving in the U.S. Marines for two years during WWII. Ikey then became a Circuit Bull Rider, until he met the love of his life Tina. Then he served as Chief for the Fort Polk Fire Department for 23 years until his retirement after 44 years of service.
Ikey was involved in youth programs around the Parish after his retirement from the fire department. His love for children put him as a volunteer in the schools, coaching tee ball and teaching his friend’s children how to water ski.
Ikey was a pillar of our community and a mentor for many young men who were in need of a loving family. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him and loved him.
