Huey Wilson's Obituary
Funeral services for Huey Wilson Sr., 79, of Leesville, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, June 12, 2023 in the Anacoco First Baptist Church in Anacoco, with Bro. Chad King officiating. Burial will follow in the Cold Spring Cemetery in Anacoco.
Visitation will be Monday, June 12, 2023 from 11:00 A.M until time of service at Anacoco First Baptist Church in Anacoco.
Huey was born on April 19, 1944 in Leesville, LA to his parents, Carl and Ina Laura McLaren Wilson. He passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023 in Leesville.
Huey was a member of Anacoco First Baptist Church. He retired from logging and then went to work for the Vernon Parish Police Jury. His hobbies included fox hunting, field trials, and woodworking. He was an all-around handiman and loved cutting grass. He loved his kids and grandkids with all his heart.
Huey is preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Carl Wilson Jr, Marvin Wilson, sisters; Carrie Bell Rhodes, Helen Kilburg, Betty Janzen.
Left to cherish her memory is his wife of 57 years Penny Wilson of Leesville, La, son; Huey Wilson Jr. of Many, La, daughters; Leah Craft (Sam) of Leesville, La, Laura Wilson (Randy Cooper) of Elmer, La, Libby Longlois (Louis) of Sulphur, La, sisters; Rachel Royalty, Ruth Wilson Linda Zappa, grandchildren; Justin Goins , Clint Goins (Allie), Tandi Calhoun (Andy), Erik Leblanc (Chelsea), Jared Wilson, Austin Shepard, Allison Parker (Chase), Bella Layssard, Blake Craft, Kristy Craft, Kelsey Craft Harmon (Trinity), Bailie Dowies (Grant), Cole Cooper, Clay Cooper, and 16 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Justin Goins, Clint Goins, Erik Leblanc, Sam Craft, Randy Cooper and Louis Longlois.
