Hilda V. Perkins' Obituary
Hilda V. Perkins, 89, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Sunday, January 12, 2020 in DeRidder, LA. Hilda, the daughter of Reason Garfield and Verna (Smith) Perkins was born on December 22, 1930, in LeCompte, LA.
Visitation will begin Tuesday, January 14, 2020, from 12:00 PM until Funeral Service begins at 1:30 PM, in Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA with Rev. Lynn Clayton officiating. Interment will follow at Beauregard Cemetery, DeRidder, LA.
Hilda served as secretary for Staff Judge Advocate at Fort Polk for 31 years before retiring. She enjoyed the challenge of putting puzzles together. Hilda taught Sunday school for many years at Rosepine Baptist Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her two children, June Cooley and husband Dwayne of DeRidder, LA, Roland Miers and wife Frances of Ruston, LA; siblings, Charlene Miller of Rosepine, LA, Raymond Perkins and wife Glenda of DeRidder, LA, Garnita Perkins of Denham Springs, LA; grandchildren Tayra DeHoven and husband George of DeRidder, LA, Carla Cooley of DeRidder, LA, Craig Cooley and wife Jackie of DeRidder, LA, Caryn Simmons and husband Steve of DeRidder, LA; great grandchildren, Kelly DeHoven, George DeHoven, Douglas Cooley and Courtney, Morgan Cooley and Danika, Owen Cooley, Kyle Simmons and wife Natalie, Kovey Simmons and wife Toree, Karley Kinnison and husband Charlie; two great-great grandchildren, Rhett Cooley, Connor Kinnison; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her son, Harold Wayne Miers, Jr.; father, R. G. Perkins; mother, Verna Perkins; and two brothers, Sam Perkins, and Kenneth Perkins.
Serving, as pallbearers are Craig Cooley, Steve Simmons, George DeHoven, Kelly DeHoven, Mike Henry, and Greg Blackmon.
