Herman R. Milner's Obituary
Funeral services for Herman R. Milner, 87, of DeRidder, LA, will be held at 10 A.M., Thursday, September 2, 2010, in the First Baptist Church in DeRidder with Rev. Lindsey Burns and Rev. Johnny Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Visitation will be from 5 P. M. until 9 P.M., Wednesday, September 1, 2010, in the funeral home and from 9 A.M. until time of the service, Thursday, September 2, 2010, in the church. Mr. Milner passed away Sunday, August 29, 2010, in Beauregard Memorial Hospital in DeRidder after a lengthy illness.
Herman, the son of Jesse R. and Audrey Stringfellow Milner, was born on April 16, 1923, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He moved from Alexandria, LA, to DeRidder in 1951 and worked for Holsum Bread Company until his retirement in 1977. He was then self-employed until 2005. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of DeRidder since 1952.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Bonnie Girlinghouse Milner; three sons, Ted L. Milner and wife Linda of DeRidder, LA, Donald R. Milner and wife Patti of Metairie, LA, and Robert W. Milner and wife Anne of Acworth, GA; three grandchildren, Megan, Chris and Betsy, and two great grandchildren, Holly and Lillie Mae.
