Herbert Reid Peavy's Obituary
Funeral services for Herbert Reid Peavy, 78, of Burr Ferry, Louisiana will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 28, 2015, at the Burr Ferry Pentecostal Church. Burial will follow in the Peavy Family Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be Friday, March 27, 2015, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday, March 28th from 10:00 a.m. until time of service all at the church.
Herbert, the son of William and Suzie Johnson Peavy, was born October 9, 1936, in Leesville, LA. He passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015, in Houston, Texas.
Herbert was a lifelong resident of Vernon Parish. He owned and operated Peavy’s Store in Burr Ferry, Louisiana for over thirty years. He also worked as Mule Skinner at Fort Polk. He loved his family and enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Vicki Peavy Ramsey.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Doris Peavy of Burr Ferry; daughters, Stephanie Robison and husband, Selwyn of Burry Ferry and Cindy Shrader and husband, David of Brooksville, FL;son-in-law, Mark Ramsey of Burr Ferry; sisters, Johnnie Koenck of Leesville, Ruth Brumfield of Leesville and Wanda Schewe of Leesville; grandchildren, Brittany Harry, Dustin Ramsey, Caleb Ramsey, Elijah McClintock, Emaly McClintock, Cassie McClintock, Kaylee Herrington, Seth Robison, Sarah Pierce, Carolyn Shrader and Michael David Shrader and seven great grandchildren.
