Henry A. "Bodie" Wilson, Jr.'s Obituary
Funeral services for Henry A. “Bodie” Wilson, Jr., 60, of Leesville will be held Saturday, August 26, 2017, at 11 am at the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville, with Bro. Jerry Twyman, Bro. Terry Ward & Bro. Wesley Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in the Castor Cemetery, in Leesville, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be Friday, August 25th, from 6 pm until 9 pm at the funeral home.
Bodie, the son of Henry A. Wilson, Sr., and Doreen Carlock Wilson, was born on November 19, 1956, in Leesville, Louisiana. He passed away at his residence in Leesville, Louisiana on Wednesday, August 23, 2017.
Mr. Wilson was a native of Leesville, LA where he worked for 26 years with the Louisiana DOTD Highway Department. After retirement, he then went to work for Vernon Parish Police Jury where he served as a Road Foreman for the past 18 years, also working with the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office as a Security Guard part time for 2 years. Among Mr. Wilson’s many talents he enjoyed camping for many years on Toledo Bend with his family, bass fishing with his wife and children and hunting with his sons, brothers-in law and nephews. Mr. Wilson also enjoyed spending many hours of his day working on his farm, riding his tractor and sitting on his back porch looking over his beloved animals.
Mr. Wilson never met a stranger and would help anyone in their time of need. Mr. Wilson’s family would like to express how much he was loved and will forever be missed.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Doreen Carlock Wilson.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Laura Wilson of Leesville; son, Jason Wilson & wife, Brittany of Leesville; daughters, Jessica Wilson of Leesville & Jennifer Carter & husband Shawn of Leesville; father, Henry Albert “H.A.” Wilson; brother, Horace Wilson; sisters, Brenda Dowden & husband, Jerrell & Jean Pusche and husband; grandchildren, Sierra Carter, Emma Shephard, Emily Shephard, Jordan Wilson, Justin Wilson, Aubrey Wilson and one unborn due in January; brothers-in law, Jerry Twyman and Dave Olivias; sister-in-law, Susie Busby; nephews, Jerrell Ray Dowden, Jr, “ Little Jerrell” & Landon Dowden and niece, Crystal Rocker.
