Funeral services for Hazel "Sis" Plunkett, 90, of DeRidder, LA, will be at 1 P.M., Thursday, December 10, 2009, in First United Methodist Church of DeRidder with Rev. Mike McLaurin officiating. A private committal service will be held in Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral home in DeRidder. Visitation will be from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M., Wednesday, December 9, 2009, in Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Mrs. Plunkett passed away Sunday, December 6, 2009.
Born in Negreet, Louisiana, "Sis" lived most of her life in DeRidder. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church of DeRidder where she was a member of the Triple L Sunday School Class.
Survivors include one daughter, Lennie Hanchey and husband Kinney R., Jr. of DeRidder; two grandsons, Kinney Hanchey, III, and wife Deborah of DeRidder, and Kevin Hanchey of Baton Rouge, LA; four great grandchildren, Kinney Hanchey, IV, of DeRidder, Lennsey Hanchey, Alice Hanchey and William Hanchey, all of Baton Rouge; one brother, Billy Blackwell and wife Maria of Las Vegas, NV; two sisters, Irene Cappelletti and husband Bob of Lansing, MI, and Dollie Watson and husband Ray of Lexington, NC; one sister-in-law, Judith Blackwell of Houston, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews; She was preceded in death by husband, William LeRoy Moses, parents, Clarence and Bertha Miller Blackwell, three sisters and one brother.
