Hazel had a varied work history during her lifetime including waitressing, factory worker, towboat cook, and school cook. Her longest work experience was at Walmart where she made many friends who became her Walmart family. Her hobbies included crafts, reading, gardening, cooking, and canning. However, her favorite pastime that gave her the most joy was working in her yard countless hours tending her many plants and flowers.
Hazel spent her lifetime in the service and support of her family. She was always willing to sacrifice her own needs to help someone else she saw with a need. As we all know, beneath her sometimes gruff exterior was a heart full of compassion for others. As she left this mortal life, she also left a void in her family that cannot be filled and will always be felt. Our matriarch, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother will truly be missed and will always be irreplaceable. Her memory will forever be cherished by those who knew her and experienced her selfless love and wisdom.
