Dr. Briggs, How Can a person speak of man of your standing, Sir you are a man that to a man like me meets once in a life time. Sir you were a fine outstanding man who loved his country, family, friends, the love he showed to NSU is non comparable. I have lots of memories of our talks about politics, history, and just general conversations were a learning experience. I had you as a professor and you were great. He was so well loved that on a day that he brought $25 thousand in cash in a brown bag that broke open and spelled everywhere, all the students collected that money and gave it back to you was something to see. when classes were over, a couple military men walked you out to your car for your safety an seen to it that no harm came to you was impressive, also the time you had carbon monoxide poisoning we came to your help as you were falling and gray color, but you hang in there and finished the class. The wonderful stories I sit and listen to between class was something as I like History and politics was inspiring. A Great loss has occurred in this Community, NSU, and State. This man was one of a kind, forever.
Dr. Harry Briggs, you were a very good man and honorable person. I enjoyed our talks between class of History, politics and general talks. I had so many ? about certain battles, politics and you answered each one. My thoughts of you bringing $25,ooo in cash in a brown bag to school and it opening up and spilling all over the place. you were so well like that every student picked up your money an you got it all back was something to witness, even two of Fort Polk soldiers walked you to your car, an you just a fussing because you didn't need help was funny, another time you had carbon monoxide poisoning and you a falling out with a gray look to you as I and security worked with you another got a nursing instructor to help , but you taught class any way. A great man, good community leader, a asset to NSU, and to himself. I for one will miss him, for he is a man you meet once in a lifetime.
Harry was such a wonderful supporter of Plymouth State Tennis, and we loved when he came to watch the matches. My fondest memory will be of his swim across Little Squam Lake with support from our Tennis team....he was a very special man.
My deepest sympathies to the family/friends ...many prayers sent ya'lls way.
God bless you Harry may you rest in peace with Lydia now.You will be missed as I already miss our talks.
