Harold James Yancey's Obituary
Funeral services for Harold James Yancey, 63, of Dry Creek, LA, will be held at 3 P.M., Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at Dry Creek Baptist Church, Dry Creek, LA, with Rev. Alfred Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Dry Creek Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder, LA. Visitation will begin Monday, December 12, 2011, at 1 PM until the time of the service on Tuesday at 3PM, all at the church.
Harold was born on May 17, 1948, to Herman Yancey and Hazel Fredrick Yancey, in Glenmora, LA. He passed from this life on Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at his residence. He was a residence of the Dry Creek Community and was employed as a truck driver in the logging industry for most of his life. He loved to hunt & fish & most of all he loved his son David. Harold attended LeBlanc United Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include his sons, David DeWayne Yancey of Dry Creek, LA, Scott LaPorte & wife Nicole of Scott, LA; Step-son, Israel Jesse Spears & wife Glenda of Kinder, LA & Step-Daughter, Dorothy Kay Johnson of Ragley, LA & several Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
