Harold Knowlton's Obituary
Harold F Knowlton, Sr., 70, entered into rest on Friday, August 13, 2021 in St Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, LA. Harold, the son of Harry Orin Knowlton and Beatrice Turner Knowlton, was born on August 2, 1951 in Wyoming.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 19, 2021, with visitation starting at 10:00 AM until the time of service which will begin 11:00 AM at Temple Baptist Church, located at 122 Martin Luther King Dr., DeRidder, LA 70634 with Rev. Dalton Isbell officiating. Interment will follow at Self Cemetery in Hornbeck, LA. Funeral services under the care of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder.
Harold loved all children, especially his nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In his younger years, he was an avid chess player. He also enjoyed reading and smoking his pipe. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Sheila Knowlton Austin and husband Kenneth of DeRidder; son, Harold Knowlton, Jr. and wife Carla of Kentucky; three sisters, June Welch and husband Ricky of Anacoco, Mary Corley of Rosepine, and Christine Welch of Oklahoma; a beloved friend and primary caregiver, Kyleen Perry; eight grandchildren, Sean Austin, Bryce Austin, Jeremy Knowlton, Tiana Knowlton, Justin Cardenas-Carlisle, William “Bill” Griffith, Sara Griffith, and Hannah Griffith; four great-grandchildren, Kenley Renee Austin, Cash Alan Griffith, Kylah Elaine Clark, Bryson Michael Knowlton; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Beatrice Knowlton; three brothers, Wayne Knowlton, Harry Knowlton, and Johnny Mike Knowlton; niece, Stephanie Martin; good friend, Roger Perry.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Justin Cardenas-Carlisle, Jimmy Moreland, Cletus Corley, Drew Corley, Joey Corley, and Paul Maineville.
Those honored to serve as honorary pallbearers are Bill Griffith and Tahveat Sams.
