Harold G. Kaiama's Obituary
Funeral services for SFC Harold G. Kaiama, (Ret) will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 3, 2016 in the First United Methodist Church in Leesville. Rev. Terry Ward will officiate.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 2, 2016 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Church.
Mr. Kaiama was born on May 28, 1938 in Lahaina Maui, Hawaii. He served in the United States Army as an Airborne Ranger. He served 3 tours of duty in Vietnam, and retired as a SFC after serving 20 years and 2 days. He moved to Vernon Parish in 1972. He served as a Boy Scout Leader, and Baseball and Softball Coach. He coached his son when he played for the “Tigers”, “Dodgers”, “Recondo’s” and “A’s”. He coached his daughter when she played for the “Blue Birds” (until his wife fired him). He coached his grandsons when they played for the “Marlins” and “Rangers” and his granddaughters when they played for the “Lady Rangers” and the “Lady Bandits”.
Mr. Kaiama is survived by his wife of 56 years: Irene Faye Kaiama; Daughter: Kelly Kaiama Goodwin and her husband Tim; Son: Paul Kaiama and his wife Lisa; Grandchildren: Jacoby Kaiama and his wife Tabitha, Maile Walter and her husband Kyle, Josh Kaiama, McKenna Goodwin, Brandon LaBorde and his wife Courtney, Robert Caruso and his wife Nikki, and Natalie Caruso; Great Grandchildren: Kai, Bella, Brexton, Logan, Lily, Isabella, Gabby, Lucas, Kaden; Shawn Coffey (mother of Jacoby and Josh); 9 Sisters; 4 Brothers; 33 Nieces and Nephews.
