LTC, Gus E. Greene, JR.'s Obituary
Funeral service for LTC, Gus E. Greene, Jr. (Retired), 78, of DeRidder, LA, will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at 2:00 pm., Temple Baptist Church, DeRidder, LA, with Rev. Frank Ott officiating. A full military burial will follow in Beauregard Cemetery, DeRidder, LA, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Mr. Greene passed away Saturday, March 24, 2012, at his residence.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 26, 2012, 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Tuesday, March 27, 2012, 9:00am until 12pm, all at Labby Memorial Funeral Home, DeRidder, LA.
He was a devoted father, husband, soldier, and man of God. He served 22 years in the U.S. Army followed by 20 years in the Civil Service as the Director of Logistics at Fort Polk, LA. He was an avid hunter and fisherman throughout his life. He was also a “Fisher of Men” serving as a Deacon at Temple Baptist Church.
Mr. Greene is survived by Linda, his wife of 58 years; his sons and their wives, Gus and Shanda, Michael and Marsha and John and Melissa; 18 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren and his brother Gordon.
