Gregory Rock's Obituary
On Sunday, April 28, 2019, the angels came to welcome Gregory Lane Rock home. Affectionately called “Rock” by his friends. Gregory was born in Leesville, Louisiana and made his home in Houston, Texas. He was born September 2, 1971, to the union of Frank Rock, Sr. and Myrtle Louise Rock.
Gregory had a smile that would light up a room, he was loud and boisterous, very respectful, and had a quiet spirit. But most importantly, he was a hard worker, he loved his family, and he adored and thought the world of his daughters. He was a wonderful father and great provider.
He is survived by his longtime companion, Shante York; his daughters, Jalisa Miller and J’hmya Rock; brothers, Frank Rock, Jr. (Lynette); Gordon Rock; Craig Rock, Sr. (Crystal), and Marlon Rock; sisters, Charmaine Rock (Aaron) and Rochelle Rock; and a devoted friend, Anthony W. Duffield. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and good friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Myrtle Rock; brother, Gary Rock; and niece, M. Latrease “Peppa” Collins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at Greater Bethel A.M.E. Church, 909 North Gladys Street, Leesville, Louisiana. Visitation begins at 9:00 a.m. followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Internment will follow at Leesville Memorial Cemetery, Leesville, Louisiana. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Labby Memorial Funeral Home.
