Gordon Norris Greene's Obituary
Gordon Norris Greene, 80, peacefully passed from this life at his home on Wednesday, January 24, 2018. He was born on March 13, 1937 in DeRidder. LA to Gus Edgar Greene SR and Minnie Stallings Greene.
Gordon graduated from DeRidder High School, attended college at Northwestern in Natchitoches, joined the Army and served his country as a member of the U. S. Army 83rd Artillery Division and became the Supply Center Manager at Fort Polk where he served in that capacity for 34 years. Often in his spare time, he enjoyed fishing with his brother Gus. He was a lifelong resident of DeRidder, LA.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, Gus Edgar Greene and Minnie Stallings Greene, his daughter, Kimberley Greene Hatfield, brother, Gus Edgar Greene, Jr and wife Doris Marie Greene.
He is survived by his daughter Keri Williams (Roger) of Maumelle, AR, step-sons; Gene McFarland (Becky) of Sugartown, LA and Eddie McFarland (Jen) of Woodville, TX, step-daughters; Tina Cole (Herman) of Oberlin, LA, Beverly Burnett (Tony) of Rosepine, LA., grandchildren; Caysie, Kayla, Waylon, Jessie, Amiee, Allison, Courtney, Chelsee, Jacob, Jordon, Joey, Logan, Haley, “T.J.”, Devin and Shelby, great-grandchildren; Trevor, Brantley, Bailee, J-Ryan, Wyatt, Hunter, Carter, Kaden, Braylon, Haiden.
His daughter Keri, and her family, would like to extend a special measure of thanks to Edith Harris, Betty Erwin, Rachel Kelley and Betty Brown with Companion Care of Louisiana for their time, energy, love and devotion in caring for Gordon over the past year.
The family will receive friends and loved ones at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at 5 pm.
