Gloria Miles Temple's Obituary
Gloria Miles Temple, 85, of DeRidder, LA, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 17, 2011, in her home surrounded by her children. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2011, at 11 A.M. in the First Baptist Church of DeRidder with Rev. Lindsey Burns officiating. Interment will follow in Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2011, from 4 P.M. until 9 P.M. in the funeral home and from 9 A.M. until time of the service, Thursday, April 21, 2011 in the First Baptist Church of DeRidder.
Mrs. Temple was born in Pleasant Hill, LA, and lived most of her life in DeRidder. She was a retired billing clerk from Beauregard Electric Coop and enjoyed twenty-plus years as a Pink Lady volunteer at Beauregard Memorial Hospital in DeRidder. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of DeRidder.
She is survived by one son, Steven Temple of DeRidder; two daughters, Janie Sue Welborn and husband Jim of DeRidder, and Donna Gay Womack and husband Ken of Bossier City, LA; two sisters, Ruth Bozeman of Westlake, LA, and Evelyn Luck of Rowlette, TX; grandchildren, Stacey Joslin of DeRidder, Amanda Crawley of Copperas Cove, TX, Emily Womack of Bossier City, LA, and 2LT Roland Womack of Colombus, GA; and five great grandchildren, Emma, Aubrey, Ella, Allison and Maggie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Matt Temple, Jr., and parents Emma and Sam Miles of Pleasant Hill, LA.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the First Baptist Church of DeRidder Building Fund.
