Glennys Batson entered peacefully into rest on Friday, June 9, 2023, at the age of 65 years, at her home in Leesville with her family by her side. Glennys was born on May 23, 1958, in Leesville to Ben and Melba Mitchell Bowers.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the chapel of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2023, starting an 11:00 AM with a visitation starting at 10:00 AM at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church in Leesville. Interment will follow at the Mt. Bethel Cemetery in Leesville. Funeral services under the care and direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Bol Vargas Jr. and wife Cassie of Leesville, and Daniel Vargas of Leesville; daughters, Anita Vargas of Leesville, and Angela Weaver of Shreveport; brother, Frank Bowers of Leesville; sisters, Nelda Carder of Avon Lake, OH, and Bennie Willer of Loveland, CO; 19 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews .
Preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Melba Bowers, brother, William Bowers; sister, Tywonda Bowers.
