Glenda Joyce Teasley's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Glenda Joyce Teasley, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, who left this world on May 13, 2025, in Alexandria, Louisiana. Born on June 22, 1959, in Alexandria, LA. Glenda illuminated the lives of those around her with her warmth and kindness for over 65 years.
Glenda was the cherished daughter of James Eugene Pruitt and Melba Jean Horton Pruitt. She was known for her loving nature and her ability to bring people together. With an infectious smile and a heart full of compassion, Glenda never knew a stranger; her conversations could light up the dreariest of days.
Throughout her life, Glenda embraced a multitude of passions that reflected her vibrant spirit. She had a knack for crafting, always creating beautiful works with her hands and pouring her heart into every detail. Her love for party planning and gift-wrapping was evident in the way she made every gathering a memorable occasion. A lover of animals, she often opened her home to foster pets in need, showcasing her boundless capacity for love. Glenda also had a special affinity for babies, cherishing and adoring them with all her heart.
Traveling was another of Glenda's great joys, and she created countless memories exploring new places with her family and friends.
Family was everything to Glenda, and she dedicated her life to nurturing and supporting her loved ones. She is survived by her two children, James Randall Teasley of Montgomery and Rachel Elizabeth Teasley of DeRidder, who carry forward her legacy of kindness and love. She is also survived by her mother, Melba Jean Pruitt, and her four sisters, Linda Sue Fiscus of Mansfield, Connie Jo Beeks (Walter) of Arkansas, Brenda Gail Hilton (Bobby) of Leesville, and Paula Ann Engeldinger (Kevin) of DeRidder.
Glenda is preceded in death by her father, James Eugene Pruitt, her devoted husband of 21 years, Randall Curtis Teasley, her daughter, Katie Amanda Teasley, and her brother-in-law, Cary Fiscus.
A funeral service will be held in Glenda's honor on May 19, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville, Louisiana. Friends and family are invited to come together to celebrate the extraordinary life of a woman who gave so much of herself to those around her. Burial will follow in the Noble Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2025 from 5:30 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
In remembering Glenda Joyce Teasley, we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and a genuine connection to others. She leaves behind not just the memories of her artistic creations or her thoughtful party-planning, but also the lessons of compassion, kindness, and the importance of family. Though she may no longer walk among us, her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
