Glen L. Westmoreland's Obituary
Glen L. Westmoreland, 73, of DeRidder, LA, entered into rest on Monday, July 1, 2019 in DeRidder, LA. Glen, the son of Alvin Roy and Margaret (Edwards) Westmoreland was born on April 21, 1946, in Elgin, Illinois.
Memorial service will be held Friday, July 05, 2019, at 10:00 AM, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder, LA with Minister James Patterson, Minister Jay Alexander and Danny Manuel officiating.
Glen served in a lifelong ministry and prison ministry; DeQuincy Church of Christ, Boxwood Church of Christ, Jackson Chapel Church of Christ, and Toledo Bend Church of Christ. He served in the United States Air Force. He wore many hats, a few of them were, bus driver, teacher, constable and armored guard. He loved all his family and friends, always joking, enjoyed nature and the beauty of God’s blessings. Glen loved history and war movies and he liked to travel on RV trips.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Deborah Lange Westmoreland of DeRidder, LA.; one son, Brian Westmoreland of Edmond, OK; two daughters, Amie Eckstein of Sunman, IN, Karen Westmoreland, Rock Island, IL; two brothers, Ronnie and Paul; two sisters, Mary and Cheri; fifteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three step-children, David Lange of DeRidder, LA, Wendy Abshire of Sulphur, LA, and Dawn Renee Legros of Starks, LA.
He is preceded in death by the mother of his children, Merry Westmoreland, his parents, Alvin Roy and Margaret Westmoreland, and sister Kathryn (Susie) Meyer.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Deborah Westmoreland to help pay for medical bills.
